Stan Le is a full-time product photographer and a part-time dabbler in storytelling forms (words, film, song). He studied Creative Writing and English Literature at both the Honors College and English Department with a minor in Interdisciplinary Arts at the School of Fine Arts at the University of Houston. Current work-in-progress is “Bawang Merah”, a graphic novel series in collaboration with E-man 'Koldterki' Mariategue; the Southeast Asian historic fantasy gothic was a Creative Capital Award finalist in 2018. Recently opened “People of Alief” a portrait series exhibition done in collaboration with Matt Manalo and DiverseWorks, periodically on display at Alief Art House on the Alief SPARK Park & Nature Center grounds. He is a Shitfaced Poetry Night board member and organizer,a semi-annual writing workshop and performance series by local hand-pressed print house, Anklebiters Publishing. Videography featured in Karen Martinez’s short film “Malinalli” as a part of “Journey to Aztlan: Contemporary Conversations with the Land”, a series on display at Gaddis Geeslin Gallery, Sam Houston State University. After living in a recording studio in Second Ward (East End), he has since moved into a quiet neighborhood in Houston’s International District. Hobbyist singer-songwriter. Tea enthusiast.
